Creation
The earth, the universe and all things, were created by the one true God, who has always existed and who will always exist and that God has revealed himself to all mankind through what has been created.
The Bible
God has revealed himself further by causing and inspiring the Bible to be written in order that all men and women can know about him. The Bible records many of God’s actions and words in order that we can understand our relationship to him and how he expects us to live.
God’s relationship with us
The Bible reveals that God created mankind in order to have an intimate and loving relationship with us but we have all chosen to turn away from him and in so doing have broken this relationship.
God has done everything necessary to restore this relationship. He has come to earth in the person of his Son, Jesus, being born to a virgin and living as a man, who was tempted as we are but who, unlike us, chose not to sin. Fully human and fully God, he died on a cross as a substitute for us, taking upon himself the punishment for our sin.
Resurrection and Reconciliation
Jesus was raised back to life, and was seen by his followers, after which he ascended into heaven in bodily form. His sacrificial death has paid the price for our sin so that all people can be reconciled to God and know and experience his loving kindness by acknowledging our sinfulness, by turning back to him, by recognising what Jesus has done on our behalf and by genuinely asking for his forgiveness and that there is no other way to a restored relationship with God.
The Holy Trinity
God has revealed himself as one God in three persons: God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that Holy Spirit God comes to live within those who believe and have accepted him.
